Neighborhood pride for over 80 years!
ABOUT US
Founded in 1936, the West Side Social Club has been and continues to be one of the most respected social organizations in the town of Wakefield, Massachusetts.
The West Side Social club has long been a gathering place where men and women of all walks of life share good cheer and love for their community.
The history of pride and appreciation that our club has for the local community is exemplified by the very land the club quarters is built upon. Once a swamp, the West Side Social Club converted the land now known as Moulton Playground into a massive public park for the use of the children and families of the town of Wakefield. The WSSC gathers on this park each year on Memorial Day to pay tribute to local heroes who have fallen in the defense of our country.
Further exemplifying the civic pride of the West Side Social Club is our annual Independence Day celebration. What began as a modest fireworks display over Moulton Playground has grown into a massive celebration on Wakefield Common which welcomes tens of thousands each July 4th.
Our 500+ members enjoy the comforts and benefits that the club has to offer including our 2400 sq ft function hall, which provides the perfect setting for events of any type. Our official club quarters, known as the Peter Hubbard Grill Room, is truly where the neighbors hang out; featuring multiple HDTVs, a billiards table, dart boards, and service from a bar staff that is second to none. Though we are a private club, the WSSC is non-exclusive and we welcome all to join our great organization.
